Qualifications

This is an exciting opportunity for Quality Managers - #IN633 in Seymour, Indiana.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Establish and ensure continuous improvement toward the defect-free processes that meet or exceed customer needs in the supported plant.

  • Lead the resolution and follow-up of quality issues with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Utilize Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS, TDFSS to systematically integrate statistical tools into the Product Proceeding Technology process in order to achieve predictive design quality and meet Voice of the Customer (VOC) requirements.

  • Participate in project selection and analysis and advise staff on prioritization of quality projects.

  • Review project budget process and cost control activities for assigned teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Reinforce customer-led quality focus in the supported organization.

  • Serve as a key quality representative for supplier and customer audits.

  • Manage process for post-implementation exercises to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

  • Follow Six Sigma methodologies in the process of identifying, selecting, tracking, progressing through, and assessing the success of projects and initiatives.

  • Coordinate the Supplier Quality resources for Value Package Introduction (VPI) and current products to reduce the supplier related rejects, improve process capabilities, and effectively launch new projects on time.

  • Utilize AIAG Core tools in support of the automotive preferred quality system ISO 9001/TS 16949 to deliver satisfactory product quality.

  • Work with Engineering to ensure designs for manufacturability and ongoing quality considerations are understood.

  • Continually improve processes for supplier selection and management, new product implementation, and business sourcing.

  • Guide global supplier improvement and development using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

  • Responsible for the Nonconforming Materials Report (NCMR) Process.

  • Work with the supply chain teams to continually improve the accuracy of reporting the supplier related measures of PPM, Corrective Action Report (CAR) Tracking, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to drive functional excellence.

  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action processes in order to solve problems related to quality and improve overall quality.

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and capabilities of people belonging to the Supplier Quality Function, which are critical to the support of the business unit.

  • Work with the Leadership Team to develop a long term Quality Vision to create a world class supply case strategy.

  • Perform supplier audits to lead corrective action verification to reduce supplier PPM defects and ensure supplier quality.

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience to include:

  • Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS, TDFSS, and Voice of the Customer (VOC)

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Positions require a Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Quality, Industrial, or Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, or related position.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Quality, Industrial, or Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, or related position.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
