Tecnical Trainer - Senior - Dedham 2017-16

Job Summary

Provides high-quality technical training delivery on Cummins products and systems. Delivers

technical training to distributor, dealer, and customer service personnel to enable technician

efficiency, repair quality and customer satisfaction. Provides technical support as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast training demand and develop plan to address business needs.

  • Trains and provides technical support to technicians and service personnel on products, policies, systems and tools.

  • Develop expertise through train the trainer sessions and maintain up-to-date training materials.

  • Evaluates training with participant feedback and field performance.

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains technical training records and report service capability.

  • Customize and modify technical training programs and presentations as required.

Training Delivery - Proven capability in demonstrating effective presentation and facilitation skills by adapting content to learner needs.

Communication - Written & Verbal - Significant experience in written and verbal communication and should be capable of communicating effectively to all levels within and outside the company.

Time Management - Consistently demonstrates effective and efficient use of individual and organizational time to achieve key business objects. Models behaviors to others.

Attention to Details - Consistently demonstrates ability to work in a thorough and detailed manner. Provides accurate, consistent information on all documents. Service Product Knowledge - General knowledge of all products in all regions. Deep knowledge of one product line, some knowledge of multiple product lines. Able to apply product knowledge effectively to a wide variety of situations. Deep knowledge of all owned sub-systems, some knowledge of other sub-systems.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university or equivalent technical experience required.


  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, including experience in service.

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years product experience and have technical skills capabilities.

  • Candidates must possess current product certifications.

  • Attend factory QtQ training programs as required

  • Coordinate, create and deliver quality technical training to technicians from within the Cummins

  • Network as well as to dealers and end-users to support and service Cummins products.

  • Gain an understanding of the requirements for the completion of the class for score entry, and class closing in CSTS and Promotion.

  • Monitor class fill rate to solicit addition branch technicians to maximize full seat utilization.

  • Provide certification for successful completion of the class.

  • Observe other East region trainers to understand various delivery methods and to develop delivery methods which enhances abilities to provide an excellent training experience for participants.

  • Perform segments of other trainer’s classes for evaluation purposes. As progress is made full class delivery will be required under the guidance of a certified trainer.

  • Additional management tools and skills will be developed and required to ensure capabilities in the management of a training center.

  • Time management skills will be required to maximize total utilization.

  • Develop safety standards to be delivered as defined by the HSE group.

  • Shadow a training administrator to develop the necessary skills to perform daily job functions in

  • Promotion, CSTS and WWSPS.

  • Monitor branch gaps reports

  • Very reliable and dependable

  • Must possess excellent communications skills
