This is an exciting opportunity for Sourcing Team Leader #IN638 in Columbus, Indiana.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Lead sourcing teams in the tactical application of sourcing strategies.

  • Collaborate with peers and other to product direct and/or indirect sourcing and purchasing strategies across business units.

  • Define project scope, mitigate risk, and identify savings opportunities.

  • Implement policies and track supplier and team performance to ensures that business goals are realized with respect to market-driven supply chains.

  • Manage execution by measuring effectiveness through defined metrics and disciplined monitoring.

  • Negotiate well-defined metrics and supplier management processes to ensure robust management by all functional stakeholders.

  • Apply systems and processes to improve and complete work at a team/departmental level, work to eliminate system and process inefficiencies and roadblocks, and demonstrate consistent use of structured work documentation.

  • Manage sourcing and purchasing strategies aimed at reducing cost, minimizing risk, fostering innovation and optimizing business processes.

  • Set goals for and manage category strategy, commodity, and project teams.

  • Manage stakeholders in order to define the business, technical and qualitative requirements and accommodate differences in competencies and expectations so that supplier responses may be evaluated objectively.

  • Promote alignment of purchasing strategy with business unit and supply chain goals.

  • Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.

  • Utilize Problem solving tools and processes to complete key projects, solve complex problems, and to determine root cause.

  • Negotiate supplier contracts independently or as a member of a negotiating team.

  • Manage the supplier selection process and conduct complex supplier negotiations and contracts.

  • Assimilate available data from industry, market and category analysis to develop performance metrics and create a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).

  • Maintain team’s focus on the impact of souring decisions across the entire supply chain.

  • Advise and consult with internal business partners on sourcing and purchasing processes and procedures.

  • Actively participate in implementation process of new purchasing systems including requirements gathering, design, communication development, and user training.

  • Assimilate cross-functional, cross-site performance data across geographies.

  • 25% travel required.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Positions require a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Logistics, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Sourcing Manager, Commodity Leader, or related position.

  • Alternatively the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Logistics, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Sourcing Manager, Commodity Leader, or related position.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week [8:00 am to 5:00 pm]

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
