This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for an Electrical Engineer.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Component ownership of on-engine sensor integration, ECM integration, and engine harnesses
Leadership of and/or support of sensor integration meetings or ECM integration meetings with Cummins Electronics and/or Controls.
Leadership of Design Reviews to release product through DLP progression based on program agreed upon schedule
Coordinating with supplier, manufacturing, service, readiness and program to ensure that all functional requirements are satisfy DLP requirements
Developing and maintaining the iDFMEA's, Technical Profiles, and DVPR for associated components
Coordinating with SPI functions to ensure I/O matrix, calibrations, diagnostics, and associated requirements are supported through validation, build and release.
Supporting continued product development through functional excellence and/or ESW improvements.
Reporting as needed direct to customer on any reliability growth and/or center of excellence reviews.
Leading and reporting on progress of assigned FIRG's for associated EHI components
Documenting all necessary information in Cummins Technical Reports.
Previous experience in component validation, failure analysis, electronics, and/or controls would be desired.
Skills and Experience Required:
Laboratory Operations - Able to execute all elements of the Laboratory Operations process flow model: Planning, Preparation, Execution, Analysis, Execution.
Engineering Standards - Basic knowledge in Engineering Standards.
Technical Documentation - Basic Knowledge in Technical Documentation.
7 Step Product Problem Solving Process - Able to understand and apply the 7-step process to solve a problem including incorporating Fault Tree Analysis into the process the 7-step Problem Solving Process.
Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) - Understands can describe the purpose, content, steps in developing/ managing of a Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and the role of Engineering Standard Work in the DVP&R. For further details see SkillTrack TE-RFE1-15
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Bachelor of Science or Masters in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required and 2 -5 years of engineering experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
