This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, IN for a Product Engineer - Decomp Reactor Development Engineer.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Provides guidance and organization to staff engaged in various engineering assignments and projects. Applies sound knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle.

  • Leads teams in the creation of design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions and assesses risk. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues.

  • Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations. May fill the role of a subsystem team leader, concurrent engineering team leader or a local technical functional excellence leader.

  • Leads a small technical group with minimum supervision.

  • Provides guidance, sets expectations, clarifies responsibilities, and provides feedback for project team members in accomplishing tasks and goals.

  • Participates as a key contributor and assigns work to meet group commitments.Influences at department or program management level.

  • Provides input on program-related decisions. Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.

  • Contributes to the solution of complex technical problems; provides resources, removes barriers and ensures application of common approaches.

  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering discipline(s) and leverages expertise on other projects.

  • Identifies developmental needs of group members. Assists with the transfer of knowledge; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.



Design Integration - Performs design integration at an advanced level. Proficient in the application of design integration in a wide range of work situations, able to lead the application and train/ coach others in the development of design integration skills/knowledge.

Resource Plan Management - Significant experience in resource plan management including ability to train and/or mentor this skill.

Team Development - Has the user proficiency and has significant experience in team development. Is able to train and/or mentor this skill.

Communication - Written And Verbal - Significant experience in written and verbal communication and should be capable of communicating effectively to all levels within and outside the company.

Conflict Management - Brings conflict and disagreement into the open and facilitates the resolution process while maintaining a constructive working relationship. Effectively works through complex conflict situations.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

PhD, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering required.


  • Substantial relevant work experience, 10 or more is required, including leadership of a small technical group.

  • Lead the development of new DRT’s and DEF mixing technologies

  • Requirements management and documentation that will enable communication of critical parameters, limits and capabilities, as well as consistent application across all CES products

  • All decomposition reactor design, development and validation, including internal processes for design review & release and support of related commercial & sourcing activities

  • Comprehensive understanding of sub-system performance, including DEF/AdBlue decomposition, doser spray & mixer interaction, exhaust mixing, and interface requirements for ammonia and exhaust flow distribution across the SCR catalyst face

  • Interface with engineering leaders to provide updates on development progress
