This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for an Emissions Technology Lab Group Leader. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Manage day to day operation of the Emissions Technology Lab including interfacing with customers, setting priorities, managing expenses, and driving improvement in quality and productivity

  • Supervise the Lab technician team including performance management, scheduling, training and recognition

  • Provide technical support to the Emissions Technology team for development test cell emissions benches and Emissions Measurement Lab test cell and emissions equipment

  • Manage the quality system for the lab including updating of quality procedures, calibration management and record keeping

  • Represent calibration function during external quality audits

  • Identify and manage improvement projects

Skills and Experience Required:

Coach And Develop - Able to assesses strengths and development needs of employees. Able to provide challenging work assignments and give feedback with guidance from his or her own management.

Manage Execution - Solid understanding of how to manage execution. Manages the performance of self and others through the use of structured tools. Delegates effectively and regularly with solid support and follow through. Uses defined processes to manage execution.

Motivate Others - Some knowledge or awareness about how to motivate others. Pushes others when necessary to get things accomplished. Supports others in doing their best. Focuses on bottom-line results.

Team Development - Understands the basics of team development through training or familiarity with the techniques. Has experience in team development, including having led or coached a team-development activity or event.

Laboratory Operations - Working understanding of laboratory process flow including test planning, preparation, execution and analysis. Able to ensure that testing is done according to defined procedures.

Fundamentals Of Measurements - Understands that emission related measurement instruments must be appropriately selected for a given application. Understands concepts of measurement range, precision, accuracy, and traceability.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree) required

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
