Preference for candidates with heterogeneous catalysis background who have experience in the synthesis, characterization and development.
Experience with catalyst characterization techniques: SEM, EDX, ICP, XRF, XRD, BET, TPD
Knowledge on diesel after treatment components and systems,
Understanding of performance simulation tools
Highly self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to drive for results
Works with cross functional teams on projects that require material selection, failure analysis, material characterization, interpretation and writing of specifications, product quality inspections, material process quality audits, material process development, production process validation and material property data.
Recognizes and promotes the application of beneficial emerging materials and materials processing technology.
Uses prescribed and innovative methods, and works with limited guidance.
Participates as a team member and actively contributes towards team goals.
Carries out partially defined and moderately complex tasks.
Demonstrates and applies good understanding and knowledge of chemistry to support lines of business.
Applies chemistry skills and knowledge and continues to develop experience in creating engineering solutions
Skills and Experience Required:
Laboratory Test Technology – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable about chemical lab test technology and test methods and knowledge of and familiarity with instrumental analyses to the extent that for partially defined, moderately complex problems, they are able to write relevant lab work plans, correctly interpret the data and report the results to customers with limited guidance.
Failure Analysis – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable about failure analysis, to the extent that for partially defined, moderately complex problems, they are able to initiate root cause data gathering and develop corrective actions with limited guidance. Also, the chemist shall have a working knowledge of different analytical and instrumental techniques that can be used to develop failure analysis skills.
Material Characterization Techniques – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable in characterizing materials/substances based upon of analysis techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography, elemental analyses and classic wet-bench techniques as relevant to a specific sub discipline such as petroleum, polymer, or organic chemistry.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Masters or PHD in Chemical Engineering with 2 -3 years of Engineering experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
