Diesel Technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business Columbia, MO.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Entry):

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

(Intermediate):

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

This position requires a CDL (Med-Card) and will be a part of the FMCSA pool. We will also be required to complete a DMV driving report for this position. ORDER, DOT Physical, FMCSA Drug Test, DMV report

  • A current valid CDL is required for this role.

  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations

  • This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

  • starting out the shift will be 7:30 AM - 4 PM for approximately 6 Months and then the shift will be 9:30 AM - 6 PM. Technicians also rotate on-Call for 1 week at a time after receiving adequate training, New hires can take up to 1 year before being On-Call. Applicant should be able to travel for training as it comes available, Training is usually a week at a time.

Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
