Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and correcting problems, testing, checking, repairing and rebuilding within Cummins standard repair times (SRT)

  • Ability to operate all machine tools and testing equipment

  • Upfit engines to meet various customer requirements

  • Upfitting marine engines and gensets

  • Follow instructions and read customer specifications

  • Read wiring schematics and follow accordingly

  • Standing for long periods of time, lifting tools and parts, and climbing onto trucks

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Good verbal communication skills with external and internal customers

  • Analysis/problem solving with basic knowledge of diesel engine technology

  • PC skills for written communications

  • Demonstrates team leadership and motivates others in a team environment

  • Excellent communications skills - active listening, writing, speaking and telephone

  • Effective user of good problem solving skills

  • Demonstrates ability to initiate, expedite and follow through to task completion

  • Must have own set of basic hand tools

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing 7.5 hours per day

  • Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day

  • Sitting 1.5 hours per day

  • Lifting 1.5 hours per day

  • Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds

  • Bending 3.0 hours per day

  • Driving 1.5 hours per day

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
