We are looking for a talented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team specializing in quality for our Cummins Engine Components

  • Supports Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; ensures maintenance of documentation and records.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.

  • Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).

  • Records results and prepare simple technical reports.

  • Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.

  • Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.

  • Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data.

  • Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results.

  • Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

  • Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

  • Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.

  • Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • Should be able to conduct Daily MRB review & Report IPPM.

  • Preparation of monthly Quality report for VST.

  • Coordinate & respond to customer complaints.

  • Initiate root cause analysis & corrective action

  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools.

  • Process Audits

  • Closing NPR's

  • Coordinate supplier part inspection &sorting activity when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range for this position is $26.08 – 32.60. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
