This is an exciting opportunity in Atlanta, GA for an Application Engineer.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Applies highlyspecialized knowledge of engineering and configuration management principlesand practices to assigned areas and projects in the design and release ofproducts and subsystems through the product life cycle. Product life cycle includes theinitial concept through production intent designs and customer support.
Creates designspecifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, productlife, manufacture, assembly and service.
Verifies design using analysis, interpretsresults, drives decisions and assesses risk. Works with other engineeringdisciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues.
Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirementswith identified customer expectations.
Leads large or multiple engineering projects.
Performs as the local technical expert for one ormore engineering specialties.
Solves complex problems impacting multipleprojects.
Communicates with and influences key externalstakeholders and business leaders.
Drives and manages system level requirements forprojects or programs.
Makes critical project or product relateddecisions.
Collaborates with industry peers within theirdiscipline.
Advances the state of the practice for thetechnical discipline.
Sets strategic direction for a program ortechnical discipline.
Advises and transfers knowledge of engineeringdiscipline; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.
Advises leaders regarding the identification andresolution of complex problems.
Skills and Experience Required:
Product Knowledge - Knowledge of products andproduct lines. Able to represent the features and benefits to sell theproducts. Able to recognize customer needs and suggest product applications tosolve problems and create benefits for the customer. Able to teach others toformulate effective messages and represent the features and benefits of theproduct.
Product Validation - Able to train or mentorindividuals at the awareness and user levels. Data analysis specialist levelincludes the ability to apply tools without predefined solutions to non typicaldata sets. Able to troubleshoot problems with equipment, procedures andcustomer requirements in the execution of tests.
Analyze Issues - Demonstrated results indicatingdeep knowledge of analyzing issues. Critically identifies an issue's scope andparameters while analyzing it from multiple perspectives. Determines the rootcauses as well as broad implications of issues. Integrates information anddefines an array of alternatives. Applies a wide variety of analytical toolsand processes (e.g. Six Sigma) on a regular basis to complete key projects andsolve complex problems.
Develops Systems And Processes - Solidunderstanding of how to develop systems and process. Applies systems andprocesses to improve and complete work at a team/departmental level. Works toeliminate system and process inefficiencies and roadblocks. Demonstratesconsistent use of structured work documentation.
Coach & Develop - Recognizes opportunitieswith direct reports to provide coaching; is constantly on the lookout fordevelopment opportunities for direct reports; over time, builds reputation fordeveloping and promoting direct reports. Encourages leaders at all levels tomake coaching and developing others a priority; guides leaders on how toeffectively coach and develop others.Required Education,Licenses or Certifications
Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree) in Engineering isrequired.
Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree inEngineering is preferred.
Internal candidates should be green beltcertified or in the process.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary commensurate with experience.
